Design a brochure for an Art Museum

Look at some of the sites listed in the links library and collect the following information. This section should be brief.
His Life and Times

1.      What was the artist’s name?

2.      When was he born and when did he die? – Which country was he born?

3.      Which artistic movement was he a founder member of.

6.      When was the first impressionist exhibition.

7.      What was the favourite subject matter of his paintings.

8.      What was one of the prime goals of impressionism.

10.  Beginning in the 1890’s which was his favourite subject matter and how did he treat it.

Choose a painting you like and copy it. Try to imitate the artists technique.

Your caption should clearly identify the artists.  The name of the painting, the date it was painted and the medium used e.g. oil painting.

Place a copy of a Renoir Painting here.

His work.
Say what it is you like about his painting. Try to sell his painting to the public.
Things you can mention.
1. His use of colour and light.
2. His subject matter and every day life.
3. His painting technique.

Designing you Critical Activity Brochure

When Designing your brochure there are a number of things you can think about.

1.      Your writing can be organised into columns.  This worksheet is organised into columns.  So are most newspapers and magazines. You can copy the layout of this worksheet,

2.      Your copy of your chosen artist should line up with columns of writing, both the right-hand and the left-hand ends.  Your copy may however be spread over more than one column.

3.      You may wish to use graphic effects such as ruler drawn lines or shaded boxes drawn with a ruler.
