grade Art and Design Curriculum Content All S2/3/4 Art and Design classes follow the Standard Grade Curriculum. In third year all pupils will complete at least one unit of study in each of the three areas – Design – Expression – Critical Activity. The fourth year is similar to the third year except the design unit will be used for internal assessment at the end of the year, and grades forwarded to the SQA. All pupils have to complete two critical essays, one on design and designer and one about art and artists. They will be submitted to the SQA for assessment near the end of session. For the Expressive Unit all pupils will have to sit a five hour examination at the end of the year under formal examination conditions and the work submitted to the SQA for assessment. Pupils will sit a preliminary Expressive examination normally half way through the course in early December of that session |
